Empowering therapy for adults looking to initiate, navigate, and adjust to major life transitions.

Introduction

Welcome! I’m Rebekah and I help adults discover and use their personal power to initiate and/or adjust to major life changes regarding relationships, school and work, health/diagnoses, place of residence, and more.  While I continue to see how difficult it is for my clients to go through big life transitions, I also know this struggle well from personal experience.  Not that long ago, I pushed the “start again” button on three major areas of my life. I know what it’s like to travel through darkness, often shaped by sadness, anxiety, stress, grief, doubt, and other painful emotions. I also know what it’s like to find the light.  I know the inner peace, calm, fulfillment, and happiness this light can bring. Combining the expertise I have as a licensed mental health therapist and the personal attestation of the challenges AND triumphs of the life transition journey, I am here to help you navigate yours.

Unfortunately, it is inevitable that all humans experience adversity.  It is such an unfair truth of life! The goal is not to eradicate these adverse experiences, though (trust me, I wish I could), but rather to move through them more effectively.  Whether you’re looking to initiate a big life change that will be better for you or have had a big life change thrust upon you and are needing to adapt and cope, my mission is to unstick you from the things that are holding you back from YOUR version of “better.”  You ARE capable of this.  “Difficult” is not synonymous with “impossible.”

Working with Rebekah

When you work with me, you have someone in your corner who is empathetic, kind, compassionate, authentic, warm, and knows how to inject a little humor when it is appropriate (after all, laughter is the best medicine!).  You have someone who gets it.  I am here to unconditionally accept you and understand you in the context of YOUR life.  I value the therapeutic relationship as the most sacred part of treatment and aim to provide a safe, comfortable, trusting, and collaborative therapeutic environment.   I will support you in processing and reflecting on your experiences and validating your thoughts and feelings. I will also be action-oriented and gently direct with you. Using evidence-based interventions and creative techniques tailored to you and your needs, I will teach you skills to help you effectively cope with emotions, challenge and shift unhelpful perspectives, accept the things that cannot be changed, develop more beneficial behavioral patterns, and establish and maintain a kinder relationship with yourself.
